Infrastrata appoints WSP as owner's engineer at Islandmagee project
Infrastrata on Tuesday entered into a contract with WSP Global to provide engineer services for the front end engineering and design (FEED) programme at the Islandmagee project.
The AIM-quoted natural gas storage firm said WSP will represent the company in the design and development stages at the project, ensuring that Infrastrata's requirements and standards are successfully met.
The company will also provide a degree of technical and commercial due diligence on behalf of InfraStrata as the project advances.
Adrian Pocock, chief executive of InfraStrata, said: "The FEED programme is meeting all of its milestones, and the extensive experience of WSP over many years in similar projects should ensure that we maximise the financial potential of the project."
The FEED programme for the Islandmagee gas storage project is co-financed by the European Union's Connecting Europe facility, and is a facet of a proposed 500m cubic metre natural gas cavern storage facility.
This would provide more than a quarter of the UK's natural gas storage once constructed and will be situated adjacent to the Scotland-Northern Ireland gas pipeline.
As of 1451 BST, Infrastrata's shares were up 7.32% at 0.44p.
