Dekeloil increases production by a quarter at West African project
Palm oil producer Dekeloil issued an update on its Ayenouan project in Côte d'Ivoire on Monday in which it informed investors that it had successfully upgraded capacity at its crude palm oil extraction mill by 25%.
Dekeloil spent 1.25m installing a second boiler at its West African mill in hopes of minimising downtime in the event of a breakdown like the one experienced during the high season of its previous trading year.
Further upgrades to the mill, including the construction of an additional 3,000-tonne tank to increase overall on-site storage capacity, also helped push production capacity from 60 tonnes per hour to 75 tonnes per hour.
Dekeloil executive director Lincoln Moore, said, "The installation of the second boiler and the 25% increase in capacity at the mill are both part of our ongoing programme to maximise CPO production at Ayenouan, particularly during the high season in Cote d'Ivoire which we are now entering for 2018."
"In tandem with these mill improvements, we continue to work closely with local smallholders to facilitate the delivery of fruit to the mill via our distribution hubs which are strategically located at sites around our project area," he added.
As of 0920 GMT, shares had gained 5.54% to 11.24p.
