Tern's subsidiary to support Microsoft programme with security platform
(WebFG News) - Investment company Tern PLC's partially owned subsidiary Device Authority (DA), a business dedicated IoT (Internet of Things) security, will support the Microsoft Azure IoT Hub.
The announcement follows the release of DA's KeyScaler 5.8 platform which allows for identity and access management in IoT products and, when combined with the Microsoft Azure IoT Hub, will allow customers to access life-cycle management features and delegated security management models.
'Internet of things' is the term ascribed the interconnection of computing devices embedded in everyday objects like cars and home appliances, which allows them to send and receive data.
The Keyscaler platform will also allow for the automation of security protocols and "adds the benefits of both functionality and audit, and logging for compliance purposes," according to Tern.
Tern holds a 56.8% interest in IoT security firm DA.
Al Sisto, chief executive of Tern PLC, said: "It is great to see DA supporting Microsoft Azure IoT in such a way to enable a more secure and robust solution. Utilising DA's KeyScaler 5.8 in a way which complements the capabilities of the Microsoft Azure IoT Hub allows both technologies to grow together and improve customer experiences."
As of 1217 BST, Tern PLC's shares were up 19.53% at 15.39p.
