Symphony Environmental's hands-on partners launch rubber gloves
Environmentally friendly plastics developer Symphony Environmental Technologies has launched a latex antimicrobial examination glove made with its d2p technology, the company announced on Thursday.
The AIM-traded firm is working with British firm Health & Hygiene Ltd and Biomax Rubber Industries of Malaysia on a full range of antimicrobial disposable healthcare products including face masks, caps, shoe covers, surgeon gowns, lab coats, isolation gowns, bed and pillow covers and hospital waste bags containing its d2p technology, which offers extra protection from bacteria, fungi, algae, odour and fire.
According to Symphony, the Protector glove is in "a class of its own" and 99.99% efficacy against commonly occurring organisms including MRSA and Salmonella.
Amir Younus, executive director of Health & Hygiene Ltd, said "The launch of the d2p examination gloves and disposable healthcare products in London today is an important milestone in our well-established business relationship with Symphony, and we look forward to introducing more products to the market with Symphony's technology."
Through their business relationship, Health & Hygiene Ltd and Biomax are exclusively incorporating Symphony Environmental's d2p technology.
Health & Hygiene has worked with Symphony Environmental on a number of previous projects while Biomax, "one of the fastest growing manufacturers of latex examination gloves in Malaysia", produces more than 1bn gloves per year and sees its products sold in over 40 countries.
Michael Laurier, chief executive of Symphony Environmental, said: "We are delighted with the result of the collaboration between ourselves, Biomax and Health & Hygiene Ltd, and excited by the prospect of more products becoming available in the coming months."
As of 0848 BST, Symphony Environmental Technologies' shares were up 2.17% at 23.50p.
