Strix successfully protects its patents and IPs in trio of cases
Kettle safety controls designer and manufacturer Strix Group announced on Wednesday that it has successfully protected a number of its patents and intellectual properties.
The AIM-traded company, which has a portfolio of over 150 patents, highlighted three cases from the last six months where it needed to take action "both to defend the company's commercial position and ensure consumer safety."
Mark Bartlett, Chief Executive Officer, said: "We take protecting our innovative technology and superior products very seriously, ensuring that customers can continue to trust and rely on products using Strix technology."
The Isle of Man-based company said an infringement by Bears Electric Appliances, also known as Xiao Xiong Electric, that involved the sale of products using Strix technology led to the two company's reaching a settlement, Strix receiving compensation and Bears Electric agreeing to avoid suppliers who infringe on Strix's patents.
Strix also reached settlements with Adriaanse Import & Export and Edco Eindhoven who had imported kettles containing Strix technology into the Netherlands, and Shenzhen Aotuer Technology who attempted to import similar products to the UK, France and Germany.
Shenzhen Aotuer Technology had been selling the kettles on Amazon and agreed to cease and desist from infringing Strix's intellectual property in the future.
"We continually monitor appliances in the market to prevent the sale of products that do not meet international standards or that infringe our IP. We will continue to take further action, as appropriate, reinforcing our market leading brand and ensuring that consumers can benefit from safe, high quality products," said Bartlett.
As of 1249 BST, Strix Group's shares were down 1.97% at 139.00p.
