SimiGon awarded 28-month contract with US Air Force
Modelling, simulation and training solutions provider SimiGon has been awarded a 28 month contract by the United States Air Force, it announced on Wednesday, to provide additional contractor logistics support for SIMbox-based T-6A Level 5 FAA-compliant flight training devices.
The AIM-traded firm said that, under the contract's period of performance of 28 months, SimiGon would provide warranty support for the additional six simulators delivered as part of the task order with Booz Allen in 2016, and further onsite hardware and software support for all of the SIMbox-based simulators, including the 10 simulators delivered to the USAF between 2011-2012 and then upgraded under the 2016 contract.
It said the total contract value was up to $0.56m over the 28-month period, dependent on the level of support services required.
The expected revenue from the contract was already factored into management's expectations.
SimiGon said the contract represented another milestone for the company, as it established a full contractor logistics support capability for the T-6A training devices.
The simulators were being used to provide thousands of training events annually for the US Air Force's 'Undergraduate Remotely Piloted Aircraft Training' programme.
Its board said it further demonstrated the market's recognition that SimiGon was capable of delivering support for the complete ecosystem, including software, hardware and onsite support.
"We are excited to deliver additional CLS services to support the USAF RPA training programme and ensure timely training for new operators," said SimiGon president and CEO Ami Vizer.
"We expect this contract to generate further contractor logistics support opportunities with the USAF and other government customers in the future."
