RedT Energy completes third generation cell stack design prototype
Energy storage solutions company RedT has completed design prototyping of its third generation cell stack, with the product now having been delivered to its premises.
After the initial stack design was completed, RedT engaged with its global manufacturing partner, which provided positive feedback on the design philosophy, inking a tooling equipment commitment with the firm.
In line with previous announcements, the company expects to deliver its third generation product during the second half of 2018.
RedT claims that its advanced liquid energy storage machines "will offer customers improved power and efficiency performance with a smaller footprint and at a reduced cost."
Scott McGregor, chief executive of RedT energy, said, "Our Gen 3 product will combine the best flow machine IP in existence with cutting edge design advancements, alongside millions of hours of machine operating experience and combined knowledge gained through decades of development by our team. We are proud to bring this high performance, low-cost energy storage machine to a customer market which is hungry for reliable, durable energy storage infrastructure solutions."
RedT has initiated the pre-selling process for its new systems and was said to be in late-stage negotiations with a number of customers and expects initial pre-orders of the Gen 3 product "to be announced shortly".
In parallel to Gen 3 pre-orders, sales of RedT's current Gen 2 machines continued to move in line with market expectations.
"We firmly believe that our next generation machines will be an industry-leading product and we look forward to updating stakeholders on our Gen 3 offering over the coming months," McGregor added.
As of 1205 GMT, shares had picked up 7.20% to 6.32p.
