Great Western weathers storm as subzero temperatures hit drilling
Great Western Mining announced on Tuesday that M2 infill drilling at its Mineral Country prospect in Nevada proceeded successfully in spite of recent snow storms.
A revised drill programme projects completion at the end of March as a fifth hole is currently in progress with a further three more to be completed after receiving approval from the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
Assay results from the drilling work are expected at the end of April.
David Fraser, chief executive of Great Western Mining, said: "We were very pleased to receive approval from the BLM to drill these extra holes on M2, which the company views as an important first step to improve the 2014 JORC Inferred Resource to Measured & Indicated. We are reaping the benefits of our good working relationship with the US Forestry Service (USFS) in enabling us a re-start drilling date at M4, despite difficult ground conditions."
An Agreement was reached between the company and the USFS for the recommencement of M4 drilling in early April.
The company has struggled with dangerously icy roads, pumping water for diamond core drilling in sub-zero temperatures and general weather related disruption over recent weeks.
"The Great Western Mining field team and contractors have worked very hard to deliver the 2018 drill programme and we look forward to delivering a full suite of results to shareholders during the second quarter," said Fraser.
As of 1647 GMT, Great Western Mining Corporations' shares were down 1.67% at 0.88p.
