Cronin Group signs up two more firms to evaluate 'DigitalGlassware'
Cronin Group announced on Tuesday that it has entered into memoranda of understanding with two unnamed leading international life science reagent and chemicals manufacturers.
The AIM-traded firm said one is a US headquartered business, with laboratory operations worldwide; and the other is a UK based subsidiary of a NASDAQ-listed company.
It said the MoUs set out the principal terms for a formal evaluation by the two companies of the company's 'DigitalGlassware' platform.
The DigitalGlassware platform, comprising a software interface with a low footprint sensor array, collects, stores and processes data generated from chemical experiments and allows access to reproducible chemistry via internet protocols.
Cronin Group said it had identified a "select number" of leading companies and institutions involved in the field of chemistry to participate in its 'pioneer programme'.
The purpose of the programme was to trial the technology with the full range of target users, allowing the company to observe its performance in different operating environments and locations worldwide.
Those observations would contribute towards future technology optimisation, prior to wider dissemination to target users.
Cronin said the pioneer companies would also assess the performance of the DigitalGlassware platform, specifically to understand how it could help to improve the outcomes of chemical processes - including precision and reproducibility - with an eye to how the technology could help in discovering and enabling new synthetic routes and chemical entities.
"We are delighted to be entering into beta stage deployment with such knowledgeable industry innovators as the initial pioneers announced today," said Cronin Group executive chairman Mark Warne.
"Their help will be invaluable in supporting us in shaping the DigitalGlassware platform for broader adoption across our target user groups as we seek to build awareness and understanding of the product and our long-term vision for the digitization of chemistry."
