Byotrol gets approval in all 50 US states, to appear on Amazon
Anti-microbial technology company Byotrol has now completed the product registration process in the US for its 24-hour germ-kill surface sanitiser, it announced on Thursday.
The AIM-traded firm said all 50 US states had now formally approved the product for sale, following receipt of approval from the US Environmental Protection Agency in June last year.
It said the formulation had been under development at Byotrol for more than eight years, and the directors believed it offered "unique performance characteristics", such as "24-hour surface protection against bacteria".
The directors said they were not aware of any other EPA-approved product for US consumers that offered similar claims.
With the approvals in place, Byotrol was now able to sell in US retail, online and to institutional customers.
The board said it would be marketing its products under the name 'Byotrol24',and would keep shareholders informed as it made further commercial progress.
Byotrol also announced that it had already secured our first order for Byotrol24, for sale via a professional re-seller on Amazon.
Whilst not yet meaningful in financial terms, the board said it was a "very important" first step for the firm, not least as it had now completed the necessary registration processes for Amazon - the world's largest online shopping destination.
"We are now, finally, ready to go in the US," said CEO David Traynor.
"We are very excited to complete the various regulatory processes and can now move confidently on to commercialisation.
"The order from the Amazon reseller, whilst very small, is a key first step for us and we hope is the first in a series of positive announcements as we grow in the US."
