WANdisco to deploy data platform directly to 'leading financial institution'
Live data firm WANdisco has secured a record contract win with an unnamed global financial institution that would see the group deploy its patented live data platform, WANdisco Fusion, directly to the client.
The deployment of WANdisco Fusion, which was set to be rebranded as IBM Big Replicate, would mark the second multi-million dollar contract won by the company within the financial services sector in the last twelve months and would be delivered as part of the company's IBM OEM partnership.
WANdisco was selected for the project, worth $4.32m in royalties to the group, after an "extensive period of testing" by the client before it was deemed to be the "only enterprise-grade solution" capable of supporting its critical cloud and big data applications.
David Richards, chief executive officer and interim chairman of WANdisco, said, "We are delighted to have secured this record contract win, which further endorses our strong credentials within the financial services sector as well as providing additional validation that our IBM partnership is successfully delivering our solutions into very large enterprise customers."
"As a result of Fusion's unique capability, we have developed a significant new business pipeline across multiple industry verticals not only through our partnership with IBM but via our other channel partners, as we maximise our routes to market," he concluded.
As of 0840 GMT, shares had grown 4.56% to 596.00p.
