Dow Jones
About The Dow Jones Industrial Average
Customers will buy or sell "Future" contracts at a price which they expect to go up or down by the time it expires. This enables investors or traders to "sell" a contract in the market to hedge against any stocks they own during times of volatile downward swings.
You can trade the Dow Jones via Direct Access, CFD and Spreadbetting with most online brokers offering the instrument to their customers. In the UK it is common to spreadbet against the price of the Dow Jones
with companies such as Capital Spreads or IG Index who offer you bets at extremely competitive spreads and depending on your
Country of residence "Tax Free" profits!.
However be aware that the risk involved with trading CFD's or Spreadbetting is very high, and you must be advised to try out your Trading strategies in a demo account until you are completely satisfied you are consistantly making money.
