Economic Events to Affect the Forex Markets

Major economic events for the week ending January 13th, 2012, which have significant impact on the forex markets are as follows:

On Monday, report on investor confidence was reported in the euro zone region along with data on German industrial production. In United States, member of Federal Open Market Committee, Dennis Lockhart is to address at a public event.

Market in Japan remained closed in observance of a national holiday while in Australia, industry data on new home sales along with official data on retail sales was reported. New Zealand, released its official figure on country’s trade balance on Monday.

On Tuesday, January 10th, 2012, official report on French industrial production was released in euro zone while in United States, FOMC member John Williams and Sandra Pianalto addressed at an event. In United Kingdom, British Retail Consortium published its report on UK’s retail sales.

In Canada, data on housing starts was reported. Australia released its data on building approvals while New Zealand published its official report on building consents.

On Wednesday, January 11th, government data on crude oil stockpiles will be released in United States while US Federal Reserve will publish its Beige Book. Moreover, FOMC member Dennis Lockhart will also address at an event. In United Kingdom, official figure on country’s trade balance will be released.

On Thursday, January 12th, 2012, European Central Bank will release its benchmark interest rate. In United States, government data on retail sales and initial jobless claims will be reported. Moreover, official data on business inventories, future business spending and report on federal budget balance will also be released in US. Canada will report its official data on house price inflation.

Government report on manufacturing production in United Kingdom will be released. Moreover, the National Institute of Economic and Social Research will report its monthly expected figure for GDP while Bank of England will release its benchmark interest rate.

New Zealand is to report its industry data on house price inflation on Thursday.

On Friday, January 13th, several indicators will be released in United States which will include data on country’s trade balance, University of Michigan’s data on inflation expectations and consumer sentiment while in Canada official data on trade balance will be released. In United Kingdom, official data on producer price input will be reported.
