N. Rock says gets more expressions of interest

LONDON (Reuters) – Stricken British bank Northern Rock said on Wednesday it had received additional expressions of interest, including one which contemplates an offer for the company well below Tuesday’s closing market price.

TOKYO (Reuters) – U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said the number of potential U.S. home-loan defaults “will be significantly bigger” in 2008 than in 2007, the Wall Street Journal’s online edition reported.
