Ford, UAW adjourn talks, plant closings in focus
DETROIT (Reuters) – Ford Motor Co and the United Auto Workers adjourned high-level contract talks early Thursday morning after a marathon bargaining session in which the embattled automaker held out the prospect it might close fewer U.S. plants in exchange for cost savings.

Auto sales seen dipping in October
DETROIT (Reuters) – Auto sales are expected to have dipped slightly in October, as stepped-up incentive spending by automakers could not totally offset the drag from continued turmoil in the housing market, analysts said.
