Assura in takeover talks

Pharmacy and GP services supplier Assura confirmed that it is in preliminary discussions which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the company.
The group said talks are at a very early stage and there can be no certainty that an offer will be forthcoming.
Further announcements will be made as appropriate, it added. Shares in Assura closed 21% higher at 46p.
