US open: Stocks are moving higher after economic data

The main US equity indices are now registering slight gains following the publication of better than expected data and what upon first inspection seem to be generally better than expected corporate results as well.
As regards the latter, Bank of America this morning unveiled fourth quarter earnings per share of 29 cents, ahead of analysts' consensus estimate of 20 cents. Revenues, on the other hand, came in well below what was foreseen, at 19.61bn dollars.
Citigroup's results, on the other hand, were decidedly mixed.
Shares of E-bay are heading higher after the release of its own quarterly figures, last night.
Boeing is down by 1 per cent after Europe announced that it will follow the US Federal Aviation Administration's lead and order the grounding of Boeing's 787 Dreamliners pending the results of an investigation.
Agilent has put in motion a $500m share repurchase program.
JP Morgan has announced that it will upgrade the shares of Juniper Networks to outperform.
Front month West Texas crude futures are now rising by 1.18% to the 95.35 dollar per barrel mark on the NYMEX.
10 year US Treasury yields are now gaining 5 basis points to the 1.86% level.
