The Bank of Spain reported today that the country registered a record number of capital outflows in the first eight months of 2012.

Specifically, €247.2bn has flown from the country during the year, compared to just €398m seen during the same period of 2011.

However, the capital outflow excluding the central bank during the month of August at €11.8bn was 34.7% lower than the same month last year, suggesting that fears may be diminishing.
