Software Radio Technology (SRT) has dispatched a shipment of marine tracking identifiers to Central America as part of an effort to ramp up security in the country.
The final batch of identifiers, worth $1.8m of the $3.7m order received in June, has been sent to an undisclosed customer.
The technology is being used to improve safety in Central America as part of a US government program.
The identifiers allow ships to track threats before they reach shore and can also be used for search and rescue missions. The marine security devises also prevent collisions at sea.
The opportunity presents a potential total value of up to $20m for SRT as the company anticipates more orders in the New Year for the national roll-out program.
Chief Executive Officer, Simon Tucker, said: "We are pleased to have successfully delivered this order to our customer on time. This is one of several significant opportunities which have been progressing for some years and are now entering their implementation phase."
