Northern Investors Company reports rise in net asset value

Private equity investment trust Northern Investors Company said unaudited net asset value per ordinary share rose 2.5 per cent to 349.7p at the end of December.
The group returned £22.9m to shareholders by way of tender offers last year, according to an interim statement Friday for the last three months of 2012.
It came after shareholders in 2011 approved a change in strategy to cease making new investments and begin an orderly realisation of its portfolio with a view to returning capital.
The number of ordinary shares in issue at the end of 2012 was 12.1m. The company re-purchased 3.0m ordinary shares on December 31st for cancellation at a price of 335p per share pursuant to a tender offer.
