Newmont Ventures has pulled out of talks to buy London-listed gold miner Triple Plate Junction (TPJ).
Last month, TPJ rejected an indicative 4p a share offer from the international gold mining giant and major shareholder.
But the Americans, with which TPJ has a joint venture covering exploration in the Morobe area of Papua New Guinea, have decided not to progress.
"Having considered its position, Newmont does not intend to make an offer for TPJ," it said in a brief statement Friday.
