Kier Group has been chosen as the preferred bidder for the Watford Health Campus project, a development that will see new hospital facilities and housing built in south-west Hertfordshire.

The £240m contract, assigned by the Health Campus Partnership, which was formed by Watford Borough Council, West Hertfordshire Health Trust (WHHT) and Watford Football Club, is for the delivery of a 375,000 square foot mixed-use development.

The Health Campus Partnership has been established to regenerate land in Watford and the surrounding area, creating new office, retail and industrial space and the potential for 1,600 new local jobs.

Construction, services and property group Kier will be working with the Health Campus Partnership to complete the financial and legal aspects of their agreement by December 2012.
