Initial US weekly unemployment claims suffer slight dip

Initial weekly jobless claims Stateside fell by 2,000 to 328,000 in the seven days ended on January 11th, according to figures just released by the Department of Labour.
The consensus estimate had been for a reading of 325,000.
The four-week moving average fell back by 13,500 last week to reach 335,000.
Secondary unemployment claims, those which are not filed for the first time and for the previous week, rose by 174,000 to 3,030,000.
