Indian clean energy developer Greenko posted a bumper set of half-year figures as it ramped up operating capacity to meet increasing demand.

Pre-tax profit increased to €7.85m for the six months ended 30 September 2010 from €0.77m the same time a year before. Revenue more than trebled to €25.81m from €8.61m a year earlier.

EBITDA increased to €11.41m from €2.69m before.

"Greenko is strategically positioned in the Indian energy market which is driven by strong demand but with constrained fuel supply," the company said in a statement.

The company said it was close to its target of 1 gigawatts operational capacity within the next four years. In the half-year period operating capacity increased to 183 megawatts from 149 megawatts.
