France may miss 2013 deficit target

France will most likely be unable to reach its 2013 deficit target, according to the country's foreign minister Laurent Fabius.
The French government was expecting to reduce the public deficit to three per cent of GDP (gross domestic product) this year.
Nonetheless, a mixed message came from French finance minister Pierre Moscovici who said there was no change in government forecasts. Moscovici told French radio France Info that the goal was still 0.8% growth with a nominal deficit of 3.0% of GDP for 2013.
However, Moscovici did admit that achieving growth will be "difficult" and reiterated that the first review of forecasts could come in April.
