Former Walt Disney boss joins Intandem Films as CEO

Intandem Films has appointed Robert Mitchell as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with immediate effect.
Mitchell, who joined the board in 2011 as Non-Executive Director, worked for Walt Disney for 17 years including as Managing Director. In 1992 he set up the UK operations of international film distribution company Buena Visa.
During his time at Disney he released four of the top 25 films in the UK, including Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lion King.
He was voted International Distributor of the Year in 2004 by the Institute of Contemporary Arts and has also won a British Academy of Film and Television Arts award.
Mitchell executive produced award winning films And When Did You Last See Your Father staring Colin Firth and Flashbacks of a Fool with Daniel Craig.
He also previously worked at Warner Brothers.
Mitchell replaces Gary Smith who stepped down to combine his career as an Executive Producer with new opportunities outside the film industry.
John James, Non-Executive Director, said: "Robert Mitchell has brought significant skills and experience to the board since his original appointment in 2011 and his appointment as CEO offers an excellent opportunity for Intandem's future growth.
"On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Gary Smith for his contribution over the years to the development of the company and we wish him every success in the future."
The company expects to release its half year results in March.
