Recession fears have knocked miners today.

Concerns about demand mean that seven out of the top ten fallers are miners. Kazakhmys and ENRC top the fallers.

BP continues to decline after further problems with the Deepwater Horizon. However, the lower marine riser package (LMRP) cap containment system has been successfully re-attached on its blow-out well.

Energy company Centrica is moving ahead after JP Morgan Cazenove suggested that the share price may start to perk up after the Budget did not include increased government intervention into the company's activities.

Warren Buffett's investment vehicle, Berkshire Hathaway, has lifted its stake in Tesco above 3% after purchasing just under 2m shares on Tuesday.
