Eros International won top honours at the Zee ETC Bollywood Business Awards 2012, the Indian media company said Wednesday.

The group was awarded Top Grossing Banner and Excellence in International Distribution at the ceremony, which recognises the efforts of production houses, marketers, distributors and exhibitors.

The Eros-produced movie Vicky Donor also picked the 'Most Successful Small Budget' film award. The Bollywood romantic comedy follows the story of a fertility expert who runs a sperm bank in Delhi.

On receiving the awards, Vice-Chairman of Eros, Sunil Lulla, said: "We thank Zee ETC for honouring us with these recognitions. Last year (2012) was a fantastic year for the industry and Eros.

"We released a mixed bouquet of successful productions and acquisitions - from commercial blockbusters like Housefull 2, Cocktail, Son of Sardar, Khiladi 786 to concept driven successes like Vicky Donor, English Vinglish and Ferrari ki Sawaari. It's been our endeavour to present entertaining cinema and we managed to hit the right chord across audiences with a fantastic slate last year."

Lulla said the company has come a long way since its beginnings in India cinema 35 years ago. He added that the success of Vicky Donor had exceeded the company's expectations.
