International Power: "While other UK utilities are facing a challenging growth against the backdrop of a difficult economic environment, IPR offers attractive growth prospects...IPR remains our preferred stock in the UK space, and one of our top picks at a sector level" [Nomura].
Marston's: "Marston's has finished the year on a strong trading note and is well prepared for what we believe will be a tougher 2012. We are forecasting only low earnings growth against the 11% just posted. But, having now refinanced to 2016, there are few concerns on the balance sheet, and the dividend, covered 1.9x, offers a healthy 6.2% yield with a modest FY12E PER of 8.3x" [Peel Hunt].
Cineworld: "Cineworld is highly cash generative and whilst fixed charge cover of 1.7x is low, it suggests that an increase in admissions, ticket prices and advertising has a high conversion to uplift in earnings...Jan 2012 update should be positive and we remain Strong Buyers" [Collins Stewart].
Sportingbet: "Sportingbet is cleaning up its revenue base, both directly (disposal of Turkey) and indirectly (regulation of European markets). We think this will result in higher taxes short-term, but deliver superior quality earnings from an already high quality product, trading team and senior management" [Evolution Securities].
