Deutsche Telekom in US merger talks with MetroPCS

German telecoms giant Deutsche Telekom has confirmed it is currently holding talks with MetroPCS over a possible deal to merge their US businesses.
The German operator said if the combination of T-Mobile USA with pre-paid mobile service specialist MetroPCS goes through, it would maintain a majority of the shares.
Deutsche Telekom has already failed in the sale of the division to Dow Jones index component AT&T as the deal was blocked by fierce anti-trust regulatory opposition.
Deutsche Telekom currently leads the advancers on the Dax 30 with a 1.06% jump to €9.8420 euros. MetroPCS was the best performing blue-chip on Wall Street on Tuesday.
