Deutsche Bank increased third quarter net profit to 747m euros, beating the 563.9m euro consensus forecast.

The German bank's investment revenue jumped 67% to €2.5bn, above the €2.0bn estimate. Revenue from equity trading moved up in the same proportion, to €642m, compared to the €473m expected.

"The more favorable environment combined with persistently high central bank liquidity benefited both the stock markets, which reached their highest levels in over a year, and the issuance of equity and debt capital," the bank said in its statement. "Therefore it is likely that investment banking and asset management revenues achieved moderate growth in spite of a decline in trading volumes," it added.

Deutsche Bank now leads the advancers on the Dax 30, rising by 3.59% to €34.49.
