Logistics firm Wincanton has been awarded a multi-million pound five-year contract by supermarket group Morrisons to operate its first ever dedicated UK convenience distribution centre in London. The contract is for combined warehouse and transport operations, supported by Wincanton's system platform.

Plexus Holdings, the oil and gas engineering services business, is to pocket £1.15m from Talisman Energy, which wants to use Plexus's proprietary POS-GRIP high pressure/high temperature and standard pressure POS-GRIP wellhead and mudline suspension equipment for two wells in the Norwegian North Sea.

Waterlogic, the point-of-use drinking water purification and dispensing systems provider, has signed a supply agreement valid until the end of 2015, with Italian white goods giant Indesit. Waterlogic's Firewall ultra-violet technology will be included in a number of Indesit's water purification devices which will feature Firewall branding.

Tote betting and pools services provider Sportech has signed a strategic technology services agreement with Longitude for exclusive distribution of its single pools product within Europe and India for sports pool betting. Longitude made its name in the securities (stocks and shares) business. Sportech believes the combination of Sportech's extensive industry expertise and Longitude's technology, which will be available primarily in tablet, mobile and online formats, will prove a winner with existing customers and may entice a new generation of users to the once popular fantasy of "winning the pools".

Also focusing on the mobile devices market is Probability, which has entered into a strategic relationship with US outfit Glu Mobile to attack the mobile gambling market. Probability will seek to exploit the intellectual property of Glu Mobile, a developer of games for hand-held communications devices, to create a suite of Glu-branded real-money mobile slot games. The casino games will be offered as part of the Probability portfolio to its direct customers on brands, including LadyLuck's, as well being available as additional content to its white label partners and business-to-business clients which include PaddyPower, William Hill, Rank and Ladbrokes.
