Emblaze, the Israeli technology firm focused on the mobile phone sector, bounced back firmly into the black in the first half of 2011.

Revenue rose to $557m from $349m in the first half of 2010.

Profit from continuing operations totalled $3.11m versus last year's interim loss of $2.65m.

Profit from discontinued operations tumbled to $1.41m from $8.81m last year.

Basic earnings per share, including discontinued operations, came to 4 cents, versus a loss per share last year of 6 cents.

The company, which has a market capitalisation of around £60m, saw cash and cash equivalents edge up to $146m from $145m at the end of 2010.

"In term of corporate actions, we believe that the changing market climate will present better opportunities for potential acquisitions than those available during the first half of 2011," said Naftali Shani, chairman of Emblaze.
