Two executive directors of Cable & Wireless Communications have taken advantage of the shares going ex-dividend on Wednesday and added to their shareholdings.

The final dividend payment of 3.34p a share is the first dividend since Cable & Wireless Worldwide was spun off.

Chief executive Tony Rice bought 1m shares at 56.9636p a share, while finance director Tim Pennington acquired 875,837 shares at 57.0882p a share. Rice owns just over 8m shares, while Pennington owns nearly 1.9m shares.

C&W Communications first set of results after the demerger were better than expected. EBITDA was $908m in the year to March 2010.

Evolution recently cut its share price target to 42p.
