Video search engine Blinkx has unveiled a new partnership with audio-visual sharing website Dailymotion to expand its content.

Blinkx will embed Dailymotion's player alongside its own content to improve access to videos including TV clips, film trailers, comedy sketches and more.

Dailymotion, which has library of more than 30m videos, will place advertising against multimedia and share revenue with Blinkx.

"This agreement enhances our video index with a rich library of compelling and varied video content," said Brian Mukherjee, Chief Executive Officer of Blinkx.

"Adding Dailymotion to our strong roster of partners enables us to continue to grow our index of up-to-date videos and ensure we deliver our video-viewing audience the very best in entertainment content."

Luc Dumont, Senior Vice President of International Development for Dailymotion, said the new agreement will aid the network's growth, value and reach.

"Our Publisher Network offers a tangible incentive for publishers like Blinkx to give incremental visibility to the Dailymotion player across their digital network: it means more content, more time spent and now more monetization."

Blinkx has so far signed more than 800 partners and indexed over 35m hours of video and audio content. Shares dropped 0.75% to 66.25p at 10:28 Monday.
