The chairman and co-founder of Bankers Petroleum, Robert Cross, has sold half a million shares in the company for a whopping £2.75m.

The Canada-based oil and gas group reported Monday that Cross sold 500,000 common shares for 549.69p each on 14 April.

Last month, Bankers reported a 97% surge in oil revenues in 2010 to $170.4m, from $86.6m previously, while net operating income climbed 158% from $31.5m to $81.1m.

"In 2010, Bankers was successful in progressing its strategic objectives and achieved record production, reserves, earnings and cash flow through its largest annual capital investment in Albania, of $122m," the statement said.
