Oil and gas explorer and producer Aurelian has discovered gas at the Krzesinki-1 exploration well in eastern Poland.
The company said that Krzesinki-1 "has encountered a 65 metre gas column, and 175 metre of core has been recovered."
Chief executive Rowen Bainbridge said: "We are pleased to have discovered gas in the Krzesinki exploration well which is located 8 km from our MFHW Trzek-3. The discovery is expected to be tested this year and we will provide a further update when this testing is complete."
