Fire engine supplier Assetco is in discussions with a "number of parties which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the business," it confirmed in a statement Monday morning.
The Sunday Times reported at the weekend that Seacor, which operates support vessels for the oil industry, may bid for Assetco.
"It must be emphasised that whilst discussions are at a developed stage, due diligence is not complete, and there is no certainty any parties will make an offer," Assetco said.
Shares in Assetco jumped by nearly a quarter after the announcement.
