ArcelorMittal reported 2011 net earnings of $2.262bn compared to the $2.916bn reported in 2010.
The company reported a $1bn loss for the fourth quarter, mostly due to asset depreciation and restructuring costs associated with optimizing assets.
The steel group's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) reached $10.117bn for the year compared to $8.525bn in 2010. EBITDA rose to $1.714bn in the fourth quarter, in line with the consensus estimate, but less than the $1.853bn generated a year earlier.
Full-year revenue rose to $93.973bn compared to $78.025bn in 2010. Fourth quarter revenue was $22.449bn, more than the $20.669bn generated in the fourth quarter of 2010.
