AIM-listed mineral resource and development company Amur Minerals has submitted project information and an associated preliminary development plan for its Kun-Manie nickel-copper project to the Ministry of Natural Resources of Amur Region in Blagoveshchensk.

Amur Minerals reported that the preliminary development plan had been included as a part of the regional strategy in the development of the Russian Far East Programme of the Russian Far East District.

Mining is a material part of the development programme for the district covering the period through till 2025.

The programme includes projects in nine regions of the Russian Far East District, including exploration and future production projects.

According to Amur Minerals, the Amur regional submission will be forwarded to the Development of the Russian Far East Programme offices located in Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk Krai towards the end of the first quarter of 2013.

Robin Young, Chief Executive Officer of Amur Minerals, commented: "The inclusion in the Development of the Russian Far East development programme confirms that the local and state authorities are aligned with advancing Kun-Manie towards development, production and potential infrastructure support."

Amur Minerals' share price was unchanged at 7.75p at 09:58 on Monday.
