Airbus reclaimed the top spot in commercial airplane orders from Boeing in 2013, according to a company statement on Monday.
The planemaker reported an industry record of 1,619 new airplane orders and an internal record of 626 deliveries last year.
Airbus, however, revoked orders for its A380 and A350 jets from India's Kingfisher Airlines, which has not been flying since 2012 due to cash shortages.
Following adjustment for cancellations, Airbus total net orders rose 80% from the previous year to 1,503 aircraft.
President and Chief Executive Fabrice Brégier said Airbus is "well positioned for the future, with 2014 milestones to include service entry of its next-generation A350 XWB extra wide-body jetliner, the maiden flight for the A320 single-aisle family's new engine option version, along with progress on certification for the A330's increased take-off weight and regional versions".
Boeing ended the year with 1,531 gross orders, 1,355 net orders and a record total of 648 deliveries. While it remains the world's largest planemaker, it lost the competition for orders.
Shares in Airbus rose 0.67% to €55.65 in Paris at 14:27 on Monday.
